Queen Emma's Summer Palace HI - O`ahu

The Daughters of Hawai’i present a day at Queen Emma’s Summer Palace on Saturday, October 3, 2009 from 9 am to 5 pm. Admission is $6 for adults and $1 for children. Ticket price includes admission to the Palace, the grounds, and Hawaiian entertainment including performances by :Jerry Santos, Danny Couch, the Royal Hawaiian Band, Punahou Glee Club, Kualoa, Na Kumu Hula Vicky Holt Takamine and Jeff Takamine with Halau Pua Ali‘i ‘Ilima, and Kumu Hula Kula Abiva with Halau Na Kipu‘upu‘u.

Traditional native Hawaiian art demonstrations will take place throughout the day, including: ku’i kalo (kalo and poi preparation), ku ku kapa (kapa/tapa making), lauhala weaving, quilting, and feather lei.

This family event also features vendors with local food, crafts, Haku lei, plants, seafood specialties by Chef Elmer Guzman of Poke Stop, and ‘ono baked goods and preserves. All proceeds from Day at Queen Emma Summer Palace will go towards the restoration and preservation of both Queen Emma Summer Palace in Honolulu and Hulihe’e Palace in Kailua-Kona.

Turn on Pu’iwa Road to park on the grass in the park.
