Last year, the MMC was the first to represent Hawaii in the 18 year history of the Pasifika Festival. This is a gathering in Aotearoa of over 200,000 people representing traditional and modern music, dance and culture from many nations across the Pacific. In March 2011, MMC returns to represent Hawaii at Pasifika. They will also be a headline act at both Nga Puhi Festival – the largest of the tribal run festivals – and WOMAD (World of Music and Dance), the largest of the paid festivals, which sells out annually. Throughout their cultural exchange, they will be doing various workshops - ukulele, hula, slack key, charter school, and makahiki games -in the schools and communities of Taranaki, Hamilton, Auckland, and Wellington.

This dynamic all-star band features Grammy winner John Cruz, Kiliona Young, a reggae/hip hop favorite of the Big Island Underground, and 4 Na Hoku Hanohano Award winners -
Anuhea, along with three vocalists of Hawaii’s most popular reggae band over the last 20 years, Natural Vibrations. They are backed by a mind blowing rhythm section that includes world-class percussionist Lopaka Colon and Kapenas own Kapena Delima, a highly coveted drummer. Joining this amazing collective is kumu hula Mehanaokala Hind and six established dancers
